Do I need a registered company?+
No. You can apply with an idea. If you are selected, the programme will help you work out what needs to be formalised and when.
Do I need a team?+
No. Individuals are welcome. You can add team members later.
Can I apply to more than one challenge?+
One application per round. Choose the challenge you are strongest on.
Does it cost anything?+
No.
Who owns what I build?+
You do. Intellectual property you create during a pilot stays with you. Enterprise licence terms are pending final programme confirmation.
Who pays for the pilot?+
Pilot costs are funded by the programme. Exact funding amount and schedule are pending confirmation.
Do I have to be in Addis Ababa?+
No. Applicants from anywhere in Ethiopia are welcome. Some pilots may require on-site work and each brief will say so.
What language should I apply in?+
Applications are currently in English. Amharic support is pending confirmation.
What happens if my pilot succeeds?+
You and the enterprise decide whether to continue. There is no automatic contract, and each brief sets out what a successful pilot can lead to.
Can I apply again next round?+
Yes.
